Before heading to your next OB-GYN appointment, use this checklist to ensure you cover all the important topics and questions. Be better prepared to finally take back control of your sexual and reproductive health.

1. Track Your Health
- Track Your Menstrual Cycle: Record the start and end dates, flow intensity, and any irregularities.

- Record Pain Levels: Note any pelvic, abdominal, or back pain you’ve been experiencing.
2. Bring a List of Questions. These are great to add to any specific concerns you may have.

3. Know What to Discuss About Birth Control if this is relevant to you.
- Ask About Your Options: Make sure to review available contraceptive methods.
- Side Effects: Inquire about any potential side effects and how they could impact you. ** This is very important, and systemically not discussed.

4. Address Perimenopause, Menopause & Hormonal Changes
- Perimenopause & Menopause: Understand the changes to expect and how to manage them.
- Hormonal Imbalance: Ask about signs of imbalance and treatment options. This is important to those of us who have just gone through puberty, could be interested in conceiving, are taking birth control or are headed towards menopause. Our Hormones affects us for our whole life.

5. Ask About Your Fertility & Family Planning
- Fertility Concerns: Discuss any questions about conceiving, including timing and fertility. Ask about your desire to not conceive. Both journeys are important.
- Testing Options: Inquire about tests for ovarian reserve, hormone levels, and general reproductive health.
6. Discuss Sexual & Reproductive Health
- Pain During Intercourse: If you're experiencing discomfort, ask about possible causes and treatment options.
- Vaginal Discomfort or Infections: Inquire about persistent discomfort, yeast infections, or BV and ways to prevent them.

7. Review Your Self-Examination Routine
- Breast & Vulvar Health: Ask for tips on performing regular self-exams and identifying changes early.
8. Take Charge of Your Experience
- Feel Empowered to Advocate: Be clear and open about your concerns—don’t be afraid to ask follow-up questions if something isn’t clear.
- Second Opinions: If you’re not satisfied with the answers, consider seeking a second opinion. Your Doctor works for you. Find a provider you love, who listens.
