Resilience over Resolutions

Resilience over Resolutions

Love, Loss and another New Year

By CoFounder and CEO Lindsay Wynn

Love is not measured by the time we spend on this planet, a ring on our finger, or the nuclear family we are born into. Love is an immeasurable connection as powerful as it is amorphous. Whether it be the romantic love of a partner, the intensity we hold for a hobby, a place we remember fondly...love is everywhere.

Unfortunately, love is almost always accompanied by its less warm and fuzzy counterpart: loss. Markers of life’s big events, love and loss usher us into new ways of being: birth and death, marriage and divorce, moving away and building anew….

As another year passes by I recognize yet again these markers have been postponed and riddled with strife. The traditions that help our minds and bodies process these metamorphic events have been replaced with an unknown haze  that has seemingly crept into every creature comfort we most likely took for granted. This has inspired an entirely new manner of living that has challenged our sense of self, tested our patience, and has us reevaluating our priorities.

As we stand on the precipice of a new year, let us not solely dwell on the challenges we've faced, but rather, let's embrace the resilience we've discovered within ourselves and each other. In the face of adversity, we've unearthed untapped wells of strength and unity. It's through these shared struggles that we've woven the fabric of a collective spirit that refuses to be torn.

Together as we navigate the uncharted waters of the future, let's remember that growth often sprouts from the seeds of discomfort. The coming year holds the promise of transformation, renewal, and the opportunity to rebuild not just what was lost but to construct a more compassionate, understanding, and interconnected world.

Let us approach the dawn of the new year with hope in our hearts, knowing that with every challenge faced, we are sculpting a future rich in empathy, kindness, and shared humanity. May our collective journey be one of continual growth, deepened connections, and boundless love, and let us carry the lessons of the past with us—the fragility of life, the impermanence of circumstances, and the enduring power of love.

Here's to a year of resilience, renewal, and a shared commitment to creating a world that reflects the beauty of our shared humanity. Cheers to a brighter and more compassionate future.
