I don’t know if as children we envision that our life's work may include telling millions of people on the internet about your raging yeast infections, but here we are.
Written straight from the heart.
If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve connected with Momotaro Apotheca, or maybe you’re curious about who I am and how this all started. Either way, welcome. I hope this feels like sitting down with a friend who’s willing to overshare to help spark something in you—whether that’s a laugh, an idea, a new way to solve an issue or maybe a little inspiration.
So, who am I?
I’m Lindsay Wynn, co-founder and CEO of Momotaro Apotheca. At the core, I’m someone who believes in the power of honesty, hard work, kindness, and of course, creative problem solving. It’s these elements that have shaped not just how I live my life, but how we’ve built this company.
Before Momotaro Apotheca, I spent a decade in the beauty world as a commercial photographer, capturing fleeting moments of perfection. But that perfection left me feeling unfulfilled. Then came the turning point: a personal battle with recurrent yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis. What followed was a frustrating journey through conventional products that either didn’t work or made things worse. I found myself asking the question that would spark everything: Why aren’t there better solutions? Especially ones that work, and don't make me feel terrible about myself.
Cue the wild, messy process of trying everything under the sun. Garlic in my vaginal canal? Yep. Yogurt-soaked tampons? Unfortunately. I even attempted a green tea mask for my vulva, which—trust me—was not my finest moment. Looking back, it’s hilarious, but at the time, it was terrifying. What stood out most was this: I felt embarrassed even trying these methods. Why? Because no one talks about these things openly.
So, with my partner by my side and a relentless need for change, we started prototyping, researching, and talking to anyone who’d listen. What we created was a line of products that don’t just work—they challenge the stigmas around sexual and reproductive health.
What drives me?
At Momotaro Apotheca, we don’t just sell salves and tonics; we share stories, embrace imperfections, and aim to make people feel seen. Vulnerability and transparency built this business, and they continue to guide it every day. Sharing the "imperfect" parts—both personally and professionally—has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It turns out, people don’t want perfection. They want honesty, connection, and care.
I’m also deeply inspired by the idea of voting with your dollars—a principle I learned from my mom. She marched in environmental rallies before I even knew what those were and always encouraged me to stand up for what matters, both with my actions and my wallet. That ethos shapes our company today. From sustainable practices to donating profits to grassroots organizations, we aim to be a business that makes the responsible choice so the consumer doesn’t have to.
On Leading This Business.
Leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about listening, learning, and showing up every day with curiosity and humility. I’ve learned to focus on people’s strengths, support their growth, and check my ego at the door. Our team is small, yet mighty. Each person has a voice, and we’re committed to their professional and personal growth.
What’s next?
As we look to the future, Momotaro Apotheca is committed to growing our product offerings to meet the evolving needs of our customers. From expanding our line to include solutions that address an even wider range of vaginal and vulvar health concerns to making our products more accessible at big-box retailers and small boutique shops alike, we’re excited to bring our mission to more people than ever before.
At the heart of this growth is our dedication to listening. We’re inspired by the stories and feedback shared by our community, which fuel our passion for innovation and help us create solutions that truly resonate. With each new product and partnership, we remain steadfast in our goal: to empower people with the tools and knowledge they need to take control of their health and feel confident in their bodies.
Aging, sex, and wellness shouldn’t be taboo, and we’re here to change that. Find joy when you can. Even in the chaos, there’s something worth celebrating.
xo,
Lindsay
